Frederick W. Bancroft a renowned figure across New England died in Boston on pneumonia at Blascachinetts Homeopathie hospital. Born September 15 1865 in Montpelier he studied in Boston Chicago and Florence and toured nationwide as a tenor and translator. He led choirs at Christchurch Montpelier and the Church of the Disciples in Boston and owned property later bought by Montpelier for school use. Funeral services were held in Boston and a Montpelier service was planned at the Church of the Messiah with M Raymond Twinell listed as the nearest relative.

Arson charges brought against Vergennes youths
In Vergennes on March 4, George Wooster and Ernest Kimball appeared before Justice Donahin on an arson charge for a fire at the state industrial warehouse. State Attorney F W Tattle handled the case.
