Yale and Harvard renewed their rowing rivalry last night on the Thames. Yale won the varsity race by a quarter length after leading at the half mile, Harvard finishing in 7 minutes 13 seconds. Harvard claimed the freshman race by a length as Yale led early before Harvard surged to the front.
London on Thames June 28 Yale crew edged Harvard by a boat length in a dramatic four mile race before a huge crowd. Yale led all the way, finishing in 31 minutes 10 seconds to Harvard 21 minutes 15 seconds, amid a disturbance when Harriman was arrested aboard a pursuing motor boat.
The Harvard crew elected John Richardson of Boston as captain, with Charles F. Tile of Syracuse named captain for the coming year. Richardson previously rowed No. 3 and No. 6 in prior seasons, while Tile, 1908, received the senior leadership role after the victory celebration in New Haven.

Windsor June 28 Duane Hammond of Browrayilla was driving a hearse home from the burial of Rampton Crandall of South Beating when the harness broke, the horses bolted, overturned the hearse and threw Hammond injured. He was carried to the Felchriie hotel where two doctors treated him.
