June 19. George Fryott of Linsolaverme was seriously burned while lighting a kerosene substitute. He grabbed a can thought to hold oil, but it contained wood alcohol. A quick rescue by a 9 man board and Miss Peyatt smothered flames. Fryott suffered burns to lips, ankles, arms and face, expected to keep him from work for months.
