Automobile Tragedy Near Goshen Claims Sayer Family
In Middletown New York on June a motor car driven by Mr and Mrs Richard Sayer of Anglewood New Jersey and their two sons was struck by a Erie train near Goshen. Mr Sayer and Mrs Sayer were killed instantly. Their two sons were badly injured and are not expected to survive. The chauffeur saved himself by leaping from the vehicle before impact. Mr Sayer, president of Rider Engine Company, was traveling with his family to their summer camp at Warwarsing en route to arrive the following day. Witnesses say several pedestrians attempted to cross the tracks ahead of the train and that Mr Sayer urged the chauffeur to cross promptly.
