Six holdup men attacked two Colonial Bank messengers in broad daylight at an uptown Manhattan elevated station. They escaped in a car with a large sum intended for the Federal Reserve Bank, after a pistol duel in which one robber was shot and carried away by comrades.
Paris reports Admiral Kolchak to not retain power beyond the nation’s needs. He vows elections for a constituent assembly after Bolshevik defeat and seeks to end war swiftly. He condemns bolshevik rule, supports a legally elected assembly, and discusses frontier settlements with Poland, Finland, and the Baltic states under league mediation.
Paris reports a brighter labor situation with talks underway for a general settlement. Premier Clemenceau planned to meet leaders of the transport workers union to end the strike and restore normal service.
Berlin June 12 a secret session of the citizens council of Greater Berlin endorsed an eight member citizens strike as the first step to overthrow the government. Die Freieheit reports plan to use airplanes to drop leaflets announce the strike and seize bakeries to provoke civil war with the aim of empowering the bourgeoise. Colonel Rheinart allegedly said troops would side with the citizens.
Paris report to the Chamber of Deputies by Emile Goude describes a mutiny aboard the French Black Sea fleet ship France at Odessa in April. A machine gun fired during fraternization with Russians left casualties. after four days of negotiation, demands were granted, ships to return home, and sailors not to be punished. The incident triggered claims of a revolutionary movement and a challenge to military authority.
Rome reporters describe sporadic strikes across Italy as teachers demand a minimum of two a day amid rising costs. In Spezia a food protest turned violent with mobs looting shops and clashing with police. two priests died and several injured as troops reassert order.
Berlin reports say the German cabinet gained strength after speeches by Gustav Norske and Philipp Scheidemann at the Weimar majority socialist convention. Opposition within the party appears overcome. Scheidemann condemned advocates of a new revolution aiming to replace the current government and said no compromise on the issue.
Berlin reports that officials of the protection league for William II exchanged letters about a 20 000 mark payment to Holland to influence Dutch public opinion. Vorwaerts prints the letters noting the sum is small given current valuations but warning that substantial further funds may be needed to counter the ex-emperor's surrender.
Atlantic City June 13 200 resolutions submitted to the American Federation of Labor include a Soviet recognition proposal by James A. Duncan. Indications show the measure will provoke debate as unions weigh recognizing the Bolshevik government and survey membership sentiment through a federation ballot.
The German Socialist party adopted resolutions denouncing the peace terms as "peace of violence" and incompatible with Wilson's 14 points. They urge admission of the German republic to the League of Nations and call for investigation of those responsible for the war's outbreak and continuation.

Madeline Rogers, 12, vanished Wednesday afternoon from St Johnsbury. Sheriff Worthen and Diet Finley, with deputies and officers, hunt the area after she attended school then did not return home. Fostered by Mr and Mrs John Holloway since age two, she was last seen with a dark blue suited youth near Eastern Avenue.
George W Grandy, a Burlington resident and longtime militia supporter, died yesterday at his home. Born January 22 1870 in Marton Landing he worked for T Pook and later at Horatio Hickok lumber yard. Survived by wife Anna Munro son Lorenth Munro two brothers and two sisters. Funeral Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at St Pauls church with burial in Lake View Cemetery.

Judge Harvey held sessions of Montpelier and Barre city courts in Northfield. In Barre city court Judge Scott, disqualified after an inquest, presided over State vs Josephine Chonlesi for selling wine liquor. verdict guilty, with exceptions noted by Hoar and Fay. Donna was sentenced to the house of correction for under eight or over twelve months. In Montpelier court Mire. Dontuzel and Antonio Donluced faced illegal keeping of intoxicating liquor, bail set for a later hearing.
The funeral of William Rise, once a Barre granite manufacturer, was held yesterday at his brother J. G. Rizzi’s home on Comollltreet. A large gathering of relatives and former business associates attended. Burial was in Hope Cemetery. Surviving relatives include his mother Mrs. Jeery Kieai, two brothers Ly Gi Riazi and Kroest, and a sister Mire Cen lino Almotti, with extended relatives in Italy.
