Windsor June 18 The hat worn by Edward Clark the prisoner who escaped from the state prison Saturday afternoon was found yesterday by James Conlin caretaker of the Evarte estate near a wood shed above Lake Runnymede. The shed sits where officers dragged the lake Sunday and was searched again. It is believed Clark hid there until Sunday night when he escaped. A rumor in town says a liberty man without hat or pants has been seen, and Supt Lovell has gone to the area to confirm if it is Clark.

Middlebury June 13 Addison county court resumed business. Robert McGilon of Rochester faced two counts for possessing part of a deers hide near Goshen on May 30 and May 1. One count dropped. he pleaded guilty and paid a $100 fine. Proceedings also began in Mary J Pond vs Adelia C Pond executor, linked to the Pond will case decided last December. The plaintiff, a stepdaughter omitted from the will, seeks six years of wages as a housekeeper.

Engine Partly Tipped From Cattle Train at Randolph Yard
