Mr and Mrs William Father attended a week’s social gathering at the grove with friends from North Uxbridge and Westerstap. The evening featured a formal dinner and informal dancing as guests shared updates and greetings.
Funeral services for Miss A E Penniman who died Tuesday at her Will iamstown home of a cerebral hemorrhage were held Friday at 2 PM at the house with many friends and cousins in attendance. Bearers included T L Buvtert Ovear Waterman Henry Penniman and Harriew Dodge. Attendees from Worcester Massachusetts Morris county and nearby towns joined family members including Mr and Mrs Hartion Deige Mr and Mrs Oscar Waterman of Morrheritty and others from South Gregaiton Mantyetior and Barre.

Alfred Carnes died at 7 a.m. today in Williamstown after a 12 hour illness. He had lived in Williams town since 1872 with deep roots in the community. He married May Miles of Coleie fifty six years ago. He leaves his wife a daughter a brother and a sister. The funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. with burial in the family plot beside Rex A Merkey.
Attorney S Hollister Jackson and J G Pirie led National Quarry Owners Association delegates at a Boston conference with Quarry Workers International Union officers. They recommended an eight cent per hour wage cut across most labor grades effective July 1 1921, with a 13 cent cut for unskilled labor. The proposal requires ratification by both unions and the national organizations. Participants included Frank Sullivan R I and Henry C Smakey Quincy and Fred W Sutter Barre and others. The meeting occurred June 1 at a private residence.
A one act style amateur play was presented at North Barre L last evening by the campfire girls of the institution. Miss Priscilla Kitten strict with students, Polly an escaped ranch girl defies rules in a Halloween party scene. A theft subplot and a happy ending follow with applause and laughter.
The Townshend Electric company and Newfane area papers report a planned expansion to provide power and lighting services. Officials mention construction near Woon Street and a meeting at an official site to discuss the project timelines and permits.
Fred E. Burr a Barre merchant for 22 years died at his Camp street home after a long illness of arteriosclerosis. He survived by his widow Annie Holden Burr and son Warren Holden Burr, with funeral at Camp street home Sunday at 2 p.m., Rev. James Ramage officiating, Elmwood cemetery interment. Burr, born Thetford Center Oct 6 1860, earlier worked in photography and jewelry in White River Junction Waldoboro Foxboro before buying Perley Chandler’s Barre shop. He was active in Barre Merchants Association and Barre Board of Trade, married July 14, 1900. Burial expected to be attended by brother Frank H Burr.
The Waist Anglinton County Farm Bureau plans a membership drive starting Tuesday June 7 led by six solicitors from Grafton County New Hampshire who have already recruited 10000 farmers there. After Vermont and New Hampshire outreach they will move to Rutland County Vermont. Key organizers include County Agent Raymond Briggs and A Bureau federation organizer 4 Cooper.

One of the most successful enclaves in the church history was held in the parish house with about ore thousand members and adherents present. Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Hutchinson, charter members and senior deacon, were honored with a program by the church orchestra plus solos and readings. The funeral for Mrs Addie Morse Ladd, who died at her east hill home after years of illness and shocks, was held Thursday afternoon at the family residence. Rev Lipsky of Narre conducted the service in a crowd-filled house. The bearers were four sons Dan Arthur Charis and Thea, with mourners and friends paying respects. The body rested in the family lot in Washington village cemetery among flowers.
Mrs S N D Phelps of Park Street received word yesterday of the sudden death of her father in law, Dr F Allen of Lynn. He was gardening when he died from heart trouble without warning. His wife had died weeks earlier, and Mrs Allen will be remembered by many in Barre. The community recalls Eva Devin Allen and Margaret Walder, superintendent, and a wake and funeral plans.
