Fairfield man pleads guilty for first offense intoxication

P. D. Law of Fairfield pleaded guilty in city court to a first offense intoxication and was fined 8 with costs of 7.55. He claimed 65 dollars at home but had only 12, and Judge Stott and Officer Carle helped cover the shortfall of 33 cents, releasing him. He was later arrested again by Officer Carle after a search found him near the rear of the Blue Moon on square.

Capt. Laurence A. Chita of the 220th infantry, stationed at Fort McDowell California, was named to command the recruiting station in Springfield Massachusetts on August 1. Born April 17 1887 in Northfield son of Keh Curtis, he served in the Spanish War and rose from second lieutenant in the 12th United States Infantry to lieutenant colonel by 1908.

Wild Time at Bethany Chapel and Barre Opera House
