Official E G Herbert of Ottawa a traveling Canadian immigration officer was killed yesterday on the Windsor Detroit ferry by Willie Ferguson an undesirable who had just been denied admission to Canada Ferguson is under arrest at police headquarters The shooting occurred as both men rode the boat back to Detroit Ferguson recognized Herbert and fired after Herbert indicated he would return to the United States Herbert had one leg and was not in custody when the incident happened
Henry Bean, longtime Central Vermont Railway conductor and later promoter of the Bellows Falls and Suxton River Street Railway, dropped dead at 112 Atkinson Street Bellows Falls at 8 o'clock. He retired years ago and is survived by his wife and one daughter Mrs ranks mafry. Burial will be Monday afternoon.

The county committees are urged to nominate and elect candidates aligned with progressive, community needs.

Ma A Drake won a separate maintenance award and $440 in costs, with Mrs Drake also seeking an injunction preventing her husband from disposing of property that could affect her interests. Louie Purinton faces a special grand jury for the Starkshire shooting death of Milo G Wright. Judge Frank J L Fish expected to arrive by August 20 to proceed with the jury. Edward Denning of Spruce Street suffered injuries when the car rented from ML J. Daley veered on Winooski avenue at Grant Street and struck a telegraph pole after steering gear failed.
