Hammondsport New York July 25 Lieutenant Porte piloted the America flying boat from the Curtiss camp to Penn Yan and back covering about forty miles, the longest flight with the machine to date. The test focused on fuel consumption with a light load and the third motor unused except briefly. Earlier Curtiss and Porte flew several miles with a load near the trans Atlantic weight before a minor wing repair interrupted the test.
Washington July 25 Private Samuel Parks who died at Vera Cruz during the early American occupation is to be brought to the government’s attention in Mexico. A request will seek an injunction to uncover what happened to him. Parks was heir to the Carbajal faction from the Huerta regime. Huerta promised investigation but none occurred. Evidence supports that Parks was executed by Mexicans and his body disposed of.
John Harris returns home from Spaulding guests Mrs Mann and family leave Manchester visit Dr Mann in Washington Street family members Evelyn and John Mann spent days with Neptune cottage at Wood Pond and plan to return next week. East Montpelier session draws attendees with three services planned for Sunday and Monday.
General Carranza alleges the Rothschilds through the Lower California Industrial Development company bought 100000 acres in Baja from the Huerta government for one cent per acre. A New York Limited passenger train on the Louisville & Nashville line was robbed by two masked men four miles east of New Orleans. Flagman Tom Elgin died as he set a torpedo on the tracks. Two crew members are missing, and only 5 was taken by the bandits.

Rutland July 25. A wanted forger, Frank Gardner Hill, escaped from two officers while handcuffed near the local lockup after being arrested at the post office for accepting a blank letter claimed as a bank check. Special Officer Pitaniello and Officer Elworth fired nine shots at the fleeing man, who fled into the nearby freight yard. The pursuit followed a tip that a forger named Arthur J. Mall would claim a registered letter at the post office.
Alvah Bartholomew, 85, of four miles outside Whitehall New York, was fatally injured when his wagon was hit by a Delaware and Hudson train traveling Rutland to Whitehall near the rock cut. The deaf man’s team was on the track. horse killed, Bartholomew thrown clear. He was taken to Whitehall Emergency hospital with brain consumption and internal injuries. grim prognosis reported.
St Albans July 25 report a wet passenger train on the Missisquoi valley line west of the Central Vermont railway to Richford derailed about a mile and a half from Green's corners after rails spread. A wrecking train was sent from St Albans. The train was delayed several hours. No injuries reported.
Brattleboro residents A N and FH Howton of Halifax sue L A Strout farm agency and agent Aren Hugh Agnew for 1100 damages claiming deceived buyers over the MacLane farm sold May 28 1913 for 1400. They allege the property had only 40 acres 125 apple trees one fifth timber and overall less value than paid.
A lawsuit outlines claims by Daniel M. Breananan a known truckman as he sues Jobe F Wiley of South al Ree c for a sale of a horse a dispute over payment and ownership. The complaint alleges the horse ran away caused damages and resulted in the death of a worker named Withiam Doltier during the incident.

Other matches and semifinals determined leaders for the losing eight and second 16, while the Vermont State Golf Association held its annual meeting at Waubanakee club yesterday with officers elected and plans set to host next year at Wilmington.
Word of the death of Harriet Keith a native of Barre and longtime teacher in Winona Minnesota spread through Barre with plans for her funeral. She was born in 188 something and lived much of her life in Barre before moving to Winona where she taught. Relatives and community members prepared for services in Barre and Winona with distant kin receiving notice.
Alberts, a Boston jeweler, told police diamonds valued at more than 10,000 were stolen after his trolley car was plunged into darkness when a pole was pulled from the wire. He said four men jostled him on the car and he later found the gems missing from his pocket.
