James F. Ely Jr a 38 year old Baltimore salesman shot himself in a hotel room in the presence of a young woman who believed she was his wife. Ely died an hour later as his wife Mrs. Ely claimed they had not divorced and had separated years ago. The companion said she had married Ely in Parkersburg and that he had been divorced from his first wife. The wife stated she had been a model spouse until an infatuation with a Parkersburg woman drew them apart about three years ago. She had not received support from him since June.
