Three others were injured: George Stark of Pittsburgh Philip Carapella of Corning and Peter McCullough of Pittsburgh. The workers were repairing the chimney at the time of the accident.

About 850000 worth of military equipment was destroyed or damaged as flames consumed the carpenter shop and threatened stored munitions, quickly flooded to avert explosions. State chauffeur Thomas McNally died after being found unconscious under an automobile. no insurance covered the damaged material.
Burlington reports the forty third annual reunion of the Society of the Army of the Potomac closed with a daylong steamer cruise on the Chateaugay to historic spots along Lake Champlain. A collier named Hector ran aground near Charlestown Lightship after departing Port Royal for Santo Domingo. All 142 aboard including marines and crew were rescued by tug Wilming ton and lighthouse tender Cypenes. The vessel sank about a mile from the lightship. Hector built at Sparrow's Point, Maryland.

Corinth July 11 The Felch murder case stirs residents as the trial nears in Orange court next week. John Williams, farmer near Waite River village, is arrested amid a complex tale of murder by shooting and subsequent police action. The widow and neighbor contest the official ruling, and a Bradford grand jury will hear the case with state and local attorneys present.
