Copenhagen July 14 Wolff News bureau quotes Taglische Rundschau claiming Von Bethmann Hollweg’s resignation was accepted though Amsterdam dispatches say reports of resignation are untrue. The unverified story circulated without firm attribution.
Copenhagen July 4 Berlin newspapers report the crown prince interviewed Reichstag party leaders including Socialists. He questioned each deputy privately to learn views on Betthmann-Hollweg and the emperor’s wishes. Morning papers had no notice of an impending Reichstag strike or summons to Von Hindenburg.

Amy E Archer Gilligan was found guilty of first degree murder in Hartford for poisoning Franklin R Andrews while he resided at her elderly home in Winstead. Judge Ganther Green set execution by hanging for November 6. Prosecutors alleged multiple inmate deaths at the Archer home over years. motive cited as profit from contracts to care for inmates.

Louis Pine a well known dry goods merchant and head of Louis Pine Company on Church street died at his Hyde street home from heart weakness. Survived by wife and four sons and one daughter all present. funeral set for 9 a m Monday at St Joseph's Church with Mt Calvary Cemetery burial. Pine born Aug 13 1862 in Williston. long public service as alderman 1906 1910 and trustee of St Josephs church for over 20 years. He was a Republican and active in St Joseph's St Jean the Baptist societies and Vermont State Fireman's association.
A body believed to be James Francis lies in 20 feet of water near the Shepard Morse dock after a skiff with Francis and Louis Potvin sank on Sept 7. Police and divers searched the lake, finding clothing fragments but no full corpse. Potvin’s body was recovered near Stearns’ Dock. Francis remains missing.

Brattleboro July 14 Attorney General Herbert G Barber returned from St Johnsbury after a conference with State's Attorney Campbell and Sheriff Worthen on the murder of little Alice Bradshaw He will return early next week for further investigation Barber says he has formed his conclusion on guilt but will make no statement He expects the body location will be determined later.
In St Johnsbury on July 14 suspicions grow after Mrs. Kenerson alleged another confession about locating the murdered child. She claimed she and her brother John Kerwin buried the child on HEB Gray farm near a stone wall. Deputies Harriman and 15 men searched the area but found nothing, reinforcing doubts about her statements.

Charles Smith a W A Bradford driver learned late yesterday of the serious injury to his son Herman in the Fairbanks foundry at St Johnsbury. Mr and Mrs Smith left for St Johnsbury.
Groton July Me Delmar Williams two year old son of Otis and Mary Williams drowned Thursday afternoon in a water tub at the home of BP Ricker where Mrs. Williams works as housekeeper. The father is serving a life sentence for complicity in a murder in 1916. The child leaned over to watch tadpoles and fell in. He was found quickly but could not be revived by Dr H L Tillotson. Much sympathy is expressed for Mrs Williams.
The Barre Woman's club civic department presents its first of three summer flower shows at the Church street school house. The event features peonies roses phlox lilies and iris with 300 specimens on display. Judges are studying entries as awards of merit are prepared and a tea table by Mrs. L. D. Gale draws steady turnout.
Three Barre men Andrew Thane George Thompson and E Sempronno were fined 75 total or 25 each after pleading guilty to fishing without a license at Berlin pond last Sunday. Fines suspended on probation. costs 4 031 paid. J L McNeil Brockton to face case next week for same offense.

Waterbury July 14 Miss Katherine Agnes Dillon age 20, daughter of Mr and Mrs John Dillon of Duxbury, died at 2:30 this morning from an illness of unknown nature. She fell ill Tuesday night, with Dr Bidwell away, and later Dr Taylor of Burlington was called as infantile paralysis concerns were raised. Her brother Mark died April 22 after four days with infantile paralysis. Burial is private this afternoon with state health officials permitting parental presence amid suspected infantile paralysis. Duxbury board considers new health regulations.
Mrs. A L Jameson an elderly deaf resident sustained severe injuries after being hit by an automobile driven by Edwin Ross a local barber and jitney operator. Two young girls accompanying her escaped harm as did the Ford coupe occupants. Police and medical attention followed with care taken for possible internal injuries and broken bones.
