Paris reports that the German national assembly ratified the 1919 treaty and its protocol annexes, with military occupation provisions for the Rhineland, the law taking effect from its promulgation date.
Germany drafts sweeping tax and debt measures as Reichsbank and government push to end war finance. Mathias Erzberger spoke in Weimar outlining a plan to cut unemployment grants, curb non essential spending, and raise revenue with high taxes on property and business turnover. Frank Johnson aged 78, a Dummerston farmer and Civil War veteran, was found dead beside the road about a mile from his home yesterday by a Connecticut auto party. Dr. Chester S. Henry Fiske Hill, longtime Waterbury figure and former senator, died at his Center home after a period of illness. Born July 7, 1852, he served in state legislature 1915-16 and was active in farming, Masonry, and town affairs. Survived by widow, his mother, two sons Claude and Maurice, daughter Mrs Edward Towne, and three grandchildren. Funeral Thursday at oclock with Winooski lodge burial rites at Center.
