The second Paris raid in two days was officially said to have occurred Sunday night with bombs dropped but no damage. Anti air craft guns and planes pursued the Zeppelin as casualties from Saturday’s raid were unchanged at 24 killed and 27 injured.
Paris January 31 German forces launched two attacks with hand grenades near hill No 140, but both failed, according to a French official announcement issued this afternoon.
Berlin reports repeated French attempts to regain ground near Neuville have failed. German lines hold their newly won trenches after the assaults. The announcements came via London on January 31.

George C. Colombo of Barre dies at 14 George Street after two years illness. Funeral Tuesday at 2 PM from his home, burial in Hope Cemetery. Survived by wife, three sons Harry Angelo Henrietta. parents Santin and Regina Colombo. siblings and extended family in Italy and Barre. Born September 20 1868 in Grono Italy, came to America before settling in Concord then Barre in 1880s.
Middlebury January 31 W. P. Hammond superintendent of the United States Morgan horse farm was seriously injured Saturday afternoon after slipping and falling on his back. He is feared to have internal injuries. Dr. B. Eddy of Middlebury and Dr. J. Wheeler of Burlington attended him and he was taken to Mary Fletcher hospital.
Miss May McCarthy daughter of Mr and Mrs Thomas McCarthy of South Main street and George E Zinder married at St Monica's rectory by Rev Fr McKenna. Bride attended by cousin Miss Joanna De Carthy and friend Alexander Binetic served as best man. They depart for a honeymoon to Boston and other points, to reside in Barre upon return. Bride works as an operator at Barre’s Vermont Telephone and Telegraph Co. Zinder is a granite cutter with Jones Brothers.
