Vermilion County home of Uncle Joe Cannon faces sensational charges of political corruption. Reports say Speaker Cannon is not suspected while Watt believes about 8 000 voters may be disfranchised as a result of the ongoing investigation.
Concord January 1 Lieutenant Robert D Bass lists his personal military staff under an act of the legislature. Brig Gen Herbert Tutherly from Claremont heads adjutant and chief of staff with Maj Chaunesy B Hoyt from Portsmouth as constable. Capt Orville Cain from Keene, Lt Charles W Dellinon of Petersboro, Maj Henry Worthen from Manchester, Maj F Bertram Pike, Maj Ralph Fenn from Wolfeboro, Maj Robert Jabmeton of Manchester comprise the governor’s staff officers drawn from the National Guard for service on the governor’s staff.
Judge James W. Bond of the Massachusetts superior court is critically ill with heart and kidney complications. He was taken ill about three weeks ago, worsened Tuesday after physicians discussed his case, and may not recover. His last presiding assignment was the Hattie LeBlanc trial.
An unidentified 43 year old man, dressed in a blue coat gray trousers and green tie, committed death by own action yesterday afternoon near Green lodge station in Dedham by stepping in front of a Bay State Limited train. The body was removed to Teadville station. He weighed 185 pounds and stood 5 foot 11 inches.
John R Williams, aged 80, died at his Randolph home after a long illness. Born in Braintree, he lived in Randolph many years and served in Co G, St Vermont Regiment, enlisting June 2, 1862. He was captured near Hi Ferry and confined in a hospital at Alexandria, Virginia. He is survived by two brothers and a sister.

A pair of horses owned by W. B. Caulking bolted from a driver en route from Winocski to Thinety, one halted on Colchester avenue while the other crossed the road and ended at Barker farm near Ethan Alles Park, miles from the barn. The sleigh smashed and harnesses torn, but the horses were not fatally harmed. the driver, employed by Caulking, sustained injuries at home.

A boy, son of Artyur of Admins, was hit by an electric car on Franklin Street yesterday. He sustained injuries and was taken to City Hospital. Witnesses say the car maintained a moderate speed and the driver attempted to avoid the collision.

Burlington January 1 George M Delaney former proprietor of the hotel Burlington sues Senator Max I Powell for a full accounting of stewardship since May 1909 when he took trusteeship. Delaney seeks termination of the trust and settlement of rents, 829 400 in insurance claims, and a court order to convey the hotel property on the east side of St Paul Street below Main.
Miss Kathering B Papineau of 124 Copeland street married Dr T B Larner of Hardwick Vermont at St Margaret's rectory Bev John K Keleher presided. Attendants included Mont Papineau, Harold L Papineau, and Joseph J Papineau hosted reception at 124 Copeland street.

Died of appendicitis. Harnd, son of Mr and Mrs Thomas J Brown of Cottage Street. Tiare, eleven year old son of the Browns, diet after several weeks illness. Funeral services will be held at St. Menicn’s and burial at the local Catholic cemetery scheduled for Friday morning.
Spaulding High opened at YMCA gym with Barre fans watching as Montpelier high school routed Spaulding 27 to 0. Fiewerk and Pape led Montpelier with sharp scoring while Spaulding’s Stuart battled hard. Grady, Williams and Troupe fought on for Spaulding. The night also featured a later ineligible game where Montpelier high school defeated Montpelier seminary 25 to 2.
A party of 30 from Peasant Street traveled to Plainfield in Cutler’s big excursion to the Plainfield house. They were served chicken pie supper and express thanks to Mr and Mrs Haw nee for hospitality. Arrivals listed include Freeman Doran Caulkner and others. They later lost their way returning to the city amid lively dancing and a halted triphome.
