The Arkansas ship Arkinnee or Arkasne? is the United States navy’s longest battleship, 302 feet long, 28 000 horsepower, speed over twenty knots, armed with twelve 12 inch guns and torpedo tubes. Christened by Miss Mary Mavon daughter of Congressman Robert Browe Macey of Arkansas, the vessel was launched this afternoon at New York amid secretary of the navy mover and assistant secretary Winthrop observing.
