John Page Brown, long resident of Ludlow, marked his 100th birthday yesterday. Relatives and friends sent greetings, and he received a pension gift. Born November 26, 1872 in Garement New Hampshire, he studied at public and private schools, attended Phillips Exeter Academy, and entered pay college in Hartford before returning to Brattleboro to live with his parents. In Portsmouth New Hampshire two escapees from a Vermont prison fled via river to Kittery Point after a rooftop climb. O'Brien and Conroy reached New York City. Nickleson drifted to Burlington Vermont then tried to reach Windsor. Navy ordered arrests. O'Brien surrendered and described the plan to drown Conroy.
