Premier Briand and Ambassador Sharp discussed the allied reply to President Wilson s peace note. Belgium also sent a note expressing gratitude for American aid and sympathy. The joint statement is described as the most important ever drawn up by any government and will be published Friday morning.
London reports Premier Lloyd George at Guildhall says Emperor William claimed the Entente rejected peace offers. He asserts no terms were offered and calls the German claim a trap of empty promises. He says peace is desired but must be real and on terms acceptable to the Entente.
An official note reports the seaplane carrier Ben-My-Chree sunk by gunfire in Kastelorizo harbor Asia Minor today. Commander C R Simson and four others were casualties among one officer and four men reported missing and believed killed.

Rutland Jan 11 Julius Pinks promoter for a Ver per is held on 2700 bond in Rutland county court. Arrested in Boston at the request of State's Attorney C Palin he is charged with passing a worthless check to Bran don man Thorate W Kay for 15 and with another 30 check passed on W H Billings of Hardwick inn last November. Check allegedly originated from Minneapolis firm.

Antonio Bianchi a 24 year old Barre granite cutter attempted suicide by shooting at the grave of Eligi Rossi a 12 year old child buried in Hope cemetery. He was found in the snow and taken to City hospital after bleeding, with doctors reporting temporary insanity as a possible cause. Bianchi lived on Seminary Street and had recently bought a revolver in Waterbury area. investigators linked the act to distress over the grave and a diary entry dated 1912.
