Griffith Sinn Fein founder Acthar Griffith emerged as a key Sinn Fein leader, editor in Dublin, and editor later in the United States. He was chosen as a Sinn Fein delegate in 1919 at Tarix, briefly served as acting president of the Irish National Assembly, and held roles with Sinn Fein through 1920. Belfast Maine January 10 Daniel Menervey 79 convicted last night of burning a farm building on the Morrill homestead deeded to his son Prank C Menervey. He made a serious suicide attempt in the county jail this morning slashing his neck with a knife he was unconscious but a doctor thought he might recover

Spalding prepares for a state basketball clash with St Michael s of Winooski as Luigi Antonari and family settle in for winter. Births announced include a Gileon Sprisg boy and a daughter to Mr and Mrs Warren Hutchinson.
A Pennsylvania fast freight collided with a school bus three miles east of Van Wert, Ohio. Four children were killed instantly and 47 injured as three ambulances and all available physicians rushed to the scene.
John Daly and a respondent named Smith pleaded guilty to a subsequent intoxication offense before Judge W A Lord and were fined 815 and costs each but could not pay, sent to jail. Montpelier National Bank directors met and declared a 4 percent dividend as of Ign. 1, re-electing James M Boutwell as president and officers including Arthur D Farwell and Lavi H Bixby. Firet National Bank directors also re-elected with a 4 cent dividend as of Jan 3, listing Frank M as president and F A Dwinnell as cashier. Others named include I R Kieon and I Gary. Foley reportedly died at Waterbury while Dwinnell was reported ill at the tuberchiis sanatorium after transfer from Washington county jail.
