Mrs. Mohitable Wheelock widow of Janeth Wheelock died Friday evening at her sister’s home in Calais at age 50. She was born December 10, 1831 in Marshfield to Mr. and Mrs. Friend Austin and married March 14, 18xx. Four children survive including HR Wheelock of Calastra Wheelock, eldest daughter. The funeral will be held Monday at 1 o’clock at the Baptist Church with interment in the family lot.
The closing event of the 26th legislature's week was the inaugural ball in Montpelier hosted by the Woman's club for the district nurse. Governor Hartness and many state officials attended. Carroll's Orchestra provided music. decorations featured evergreen foliage, orange and blue lighting, and a Vermont state seal replica.
