G I Johnson a prominent northern New Hampshire lumberman died at his North Woodstock home after a pneumonia illness around 7 o'clock. His daughter Mrs F H Rogers of Orange Street and her husband were summoned to New Hampshire Sunday evening. Survived by five children including Mrs Gay Albee of Hardwick and Gay L Johnson of Boston, he was long associated with the region’s lumber industry and once operated several mills and timber lands.
Poultney Jan John Harry Jones of Depat Street attempted self harm by hanging yesterday. The rope broke during the act, causing him to fall to the floor in a serious condition. He has been ill and despondent, with a wife and daughter at home.
