A quarrel during a celebration on South Main street in Hanover ended with Maxtokewarking Mastokenarsino dying from a stab wound near the heart. Angelo Accomandi is in custody on murder charges and awaiting a hearing as doctors and police responded after the incident.
Walter Perry an 18 year old resident of Chatemugay New York was arrested Saturday morning by Police Officer Ryan. He allegedly confessed to taking a suit and various feminine garments from a delivery at a Tyraltoad station and stored goods at Second Hand store. Miss Kelley, traveling from Philadelphia, reported loss of a suit and baggage mix up at the rail depot as police investigated Perry.
In Muldrow area Oklahoma a white farmer George Comey aided by others killed Casey family member Turner after a drunken spree. Turner reportedly stole a railroad engine from Van Buren Arkansas and brought it to Muldrow before seeking oil at the Casey home. He killed Casey as they slept and injured Mrs Casey, prompting a posse to hang him in the town square. Local details describe a rapid capture and public execution by lynching.

Andrew McKasax, longtime resident, died after a long illness and was buried in Elovieywal cemetery. Members of Clan Gordo No 12 U S C attended the service in a body with the burial rite led by heaters James Milne James BR Elrick Alex Han ton and Robmn Stuart. Carrett McKay, son of the deceased, accompanied the funeral train from Clyde to Barre and will stay a few days before returning home.
The funeral of William Reason was held at his Baynton Street home with a short prayer service, then proceeded to the Church of the Goat Shepherd for a 10 o'clock service. Rev. Wet, My Beattie, officiated. Several pallbearers and Burial in the cemetery were noted. Reason, aged 35, leaves a wife, three sons, and three daughters. Sons John and William live in Barre and Aberdeen, Sestland. Daughters include Mrs. Joseph Rogers and Mrs. Wik View Halvowe and Mrs Tomenion Kee ron, all of Barre.
Winooski January 1 over Mr George Sheppard longtime Overseer of the Poor died shortly before six o clock last evening at his Mallets Bay avenue home. He had been in failing health and confined to bed for months. Born in Tullet Quebec he came to Vermont at age 16 and ran a grocery at his Mallets Bay avenue home. Five years ago he was named Overseer of the Poor and had been re elected each year. He was a member of the St Jean Baptiste and Amerique churches and served as president of the Barhambeaulih club. Survived by a wife one son and three brothers and five sisters. The report notes Rev A W Mason an insane Baptist minister now at Waterbury state hospital and his connections to Cambridge church. Mason had been ill for some time and there are fears for the Cambridge church.
Report on a Sunday raid case with several defendants appearing in Montpelier court. Guilty pleas entered for intoxication charges. several defendants fined or given jail terms or bail. Names include Daniel Sexton Frank Wilson and William Taylor. Court timing referenced with upcoming hearings and bail decisions.
Mrs. Mary Rossi returned home to find firefighters in control after a stove caused a fire in the front room on the lower floor. The chemical wagon and ladder truck hastened to Wiley Street where water from a single hose line halted the fire within minutes. One firefighter remained on site overnight with chemicals to prevent a possible outbreak. Damage to interior contents not exceeding 200. loss covered by insurance. The house, owned by S. U. Sila and occupied by Mrs. Rossi, sustained smoke and water minor damage aside from the couch and partition.
Miss Helen Mre Grant daughter of Mre M. K. Grant of 1 Keith over and Clayton Edward Shores son of Mr and Mre Hf. W. Shores of South Tarte wed at the Universalist parsonage on Orangy Street Saturday night at 9 o clock Rev Edward Dowie officiating. The ceremony was unattended and the reception was quiet. The bride wore green mesaline and they will reside with the groom's mother on Keith avenue. Mr Shores is a stone cutter employed locally.
City Hospital reports many patients able to go home for New Year. Jacques of the hotel Northern was taken to the hospital for rheumatism fever. Mr Eaton left hospital Sunday afternoon. Nicola Harsha of Prempwet Street was discharged after treatment. Ik Setti and eye care patients were also sent home Saturday. Thomas Harkins retired to his house after hospital stay. Phoid fever cases continue to be treated at the hospital.
