New York reports Chief Scar Reilley of the Forty Thieves gang killed in daylight at Tom Draven’s Eis Side saloon. Draven fired, wounding Reilley as followers burst in to seize the cash drawer. A stranger found the body behind the saloon.
Neiman shot Lillibridge after an alleged provocation at Amrory Hall. Witnesses report Neiman waved a revolver and cried I have him after the killing. Lillibridge’s wife notes a long relationship with Neiman and fear followed the event.
St Johnsbury reports Kitwant Stone detained at St Johnsbury jail after an assault that left Anson Moore of North Monroe, N H in critical condition. Stone, 26, denies statements and was to be identified by officials from Lyndonville and Woodsville authorities. If confirmed, Stone will be extradited to New Hampshire.
