New York report says Glasgow dockers strike ended after five weeks. Anchor Line relief as four vessels paused at Glasgow docks resume service. terms of settlement not disclosed. Vessels operate between Glasgow and New York Montreal Holland Me Boston.
Lawrence Mass 23 The police are again in control of the residential and business districts today for the first time in weeks as militia fines are withdrawn. Eight hundred soldiers remain in the city ready to respond to any order from authorities. Women strike picketing is active causing disruption en route to work. No arrests reported. Gains in the operatives forces noted by the militia today.
Secretary of State Knox began a voyage aboard the cruiser Washington from Key West on a political mission. The trip, directed by the president, will visit Central American capitals Caracas and possibly Cartagena, with other stops in the West Indies. The secretary will be away through April and received a 19-gun salute on boarding.

Indianapolis Feb 23 arrangements will be completed today for the arraignment on March 12 as the men indicted in the dynamite conspiracy cases appear before the Federal court. District Attorney Miller says about 48 defendants will plead to 32 indictments in Anderson. John J McCray formerly of Wheeling Virginia has not yet been apprehended.
In Hoosac tunnel wreck debris clearance began. Winds from the electric motor room were dragged out by locomotives. A number of human bones were recovered this morning amid the ruins and debris.

John D. Burke of Burlington narrowly escaped death when an engine struck him while he walked along the Maple Street crossing. He clung to the front of the freight engine for about 80 feet, preventing being run over. He was rushed to Mt. Mary Hospital where surgeons amputated one finger and sewed a scalp wound, with hope the other fingers may be saved.
New York reports eight infants died and four more were sick at Brooklyn Nursery Infant Hospital since Sunday. Autopsy suggests irritant poison mixed with formula milk or water. Coroner's physician cites possible deliberate poisoning by a hospital staffer with homicidal impulses as investigators consider a kitchen worker with a grudge. Hospital says the worker had no role in food delivery.
Norfolk Virginia February 25 All the larger ships that suffered in yesterday's gale have been floated or freed from danger today. The old Dominion liner Maxtison remains stuck in the outer channels and the Norwegian steamship Hemmes is blown high on the bar at Edgewater. One other vessel drifted ashore and scows were towed to sea in what officials call the worst gale on the Atlantic coast here since 1879.

Orlen P. Smith, admitted to the Vermont Soldiers Home June 7 1910 from Solna wa City Tennessee, died yesterday afternoon by cutting himself with a lark horse. A New Hampshire native and veteran of Company C in Vermont, he was 72. Authorities noted possible premeditation as his bank account and pension check were transferred to a brother living in Acworth New Hampshire.
Samuel Greeley Smith, cousin of Horace Greeley and ally of Congressman Sulloway, native of New Hampshire, died at the National Soldiers' Home in Los Angeles, February 23. He leaves a brother in Hanover, New Hampshire.

White River Junction Feb 24 The Hartford forward movement was formally launched at a mass meeting in the opera house attended by residents from all Hartford sections. Rev A Scheuerle presided as speakers urged citizenship duties and loyalty. University of Vermont President Guy Potter Heaton and Ontario Shamedohn spoke, with music by local choirs and a high school pupil Laurie Dunbar. A constitution was adopted and officers chosen: President B Meech, vice president Rev J A Selamorte, secretary treasurer F P Campbell. The movement aims to unite temporary communities and accelerate planned work.

Essex Junction resident Mrs. Cynthia ne dint of Williston died Wednesday evening at the James H. Docs home after a brief illness. Born in St Lawrence County New York on May 9, 368 yearn ago the late Mrs. Douglas traced her family to Chelsea and moved with them to Williston in 1817. She had spent most of life there but had been living with her nephew since last fall. Her mind remained sharp until recent months though eyesight and hearing waned. She leaves several nephews and nieces. The funeral will be held at 2 o clock Saturday at the Welda Dovigias home with burial in Williston.
Report from Lehigh Oklahoma states mine No. 5 of Western Coal and Mining Co. suffered a fire. Fifteen to twenty miners were imprisoned. eight confirmed dead and one missing. The rest were brought to the surface safely as flames spread. Most workers escaped before being trapped.
The funeral for George Geake who died Tuesday evening was held at the Baptist church yesterday at 2 30 p m with a prayer service at the home. Officiant was H Holt and members of Gorsdon No 12 attended the burial service. A quartet from Minn Pintle Lewis Fred Inglis and William Inglis sang. Bearers were six brothers John Hubert James Walter David and inward. Flowers came from Mrs Walter Pearson and family Mrs J Edward Smith Mrs Man Suitor and others. wreaths included carnations and roses from neighbors clan Jordan No 12 and others.
Eight board members attended the pre-election session to revise the check list and receive additions. Ninety three changes were recorded last night as part of ongoing adjustments.
