Wannenberg on charges of conspiring to obtain military information in England and transmit it to the United States for the benefit of Germany. Judge Learned Hand signed the complaint. the men allegedly sent agents to England for maps photographs and other military data.
The Cuban Consul at Havre issued a statement denying German intrigue caused the Cuban disturbances. He said the unrest stemmed solely from the bitter nature of the presidential election.
London February 2 reports two Newfoundland fishing schooners sunk by a submarine. The Mayola, 144 tons, and the Dorothy, 47 tons, went down in the attack. Further details not available.

Funeral services were held today for Bert E Blair a Barre granite cutter who died at his home 17 Academy Street Sunday morning The rites were conducted at St Monicas church with Rev Bay Keane officiating Pallbearers named included George Junior Waller Janior Habert Junior Derthkele low George Wiel and Aleve Beir Interment took place at a local cemetery on Beckley Street
A railroad quarry train found an unconscious man under a steel trestle near Ayers Street after a 25 foot fall. He wore a blow suit, red sweater, and rubber gear, and could not identify himself. Former Barre resident Mrs Priscilla Dickey aged about 62 died in Manchester N H after a period of illness. Survived by son Riley of Montpelier road and daughter Mrs Gilbertson of Faster Avenue two other sons and ten daughters named. Funeral planned at Gilbertson home with plans to return to Barre for services.
