A freight train struck a four horse sleigh carrying revelers returning from a dance in Kingston New York early this morning injuring more than 50 people and killing Raymond Wood a bookkeeper. The most seriously hurt include Lee Rowland a bank clerk and two others reported with skull fractures.
Mrs Margar weed 72 of Billings read was killed at Norfolk Down railroad station while crossing near the millroad station. She died ten minutes after reaching Quincy City hospital. Dr. Marcolin D. Miller attended. She was believed to hide her face from the cold and did not see the outbound train.
Bangor Me Feb 13 A grand jury indicted Banco Grasse Tangor woods foreman for murder in the October Bangor killing of his former wife. Trial set for next week. Also indicted were Guetarne A Anderson Bangor auto driver for manslaughter in a fatal wreck, Patrick B Cunningham of Plymouth for assault with intent to kill his father in law, and William Crane of Stone tonton for assault with intent to kill his wife.
At a city hall meeting in St. Albans the business and professional men's association was organized. Officers elected were President Dr. B. E. Hyatt, Vice President H. H. M. Drenan, Secretary Treasurer Bruce R. Corliss, Executive Committee W. H. Vorce, William Dootin, M. E. Spero and M. D. Armstrong. Regular meetings set for the second Thursday each month. A rest room will open once furniture arrives.
Handicapped by cold and wind, Lewiston firemen battled a blaze that swept a four story brick block on Lincoln Street, causing an estimated $75,000 loss. Six families were left homeless. The building was owned by Mrs. Pierre Provost. Provost & Vincent furniture dealers and Marcott & Cote growers were among heavy losses. Help was called from Auburn.
Washington reports President's condition better today though the end of his day was altered. Mr Wiley attended HM guests at a New Jersey reception tonight while cabinet meetings were canceled.

Springfield WV February 13 Senator Robinson of Arkansas paid tribute to Abraham Lincoln at Lincoln day celebration saying the South reverently joins the North and bears a white rose pricked by a Confederate daughter. He praised Lincoln for generosity emancipation and the era’s progress, noting Lincoln’s enduring influence and the debtor of mankind to his deeds.
London Feb 13 police wore warrants for the arrest of James Ness formerly man of the Lipton Ltd at Malta and Archibald Minto another employee in connection with the British army canteen scandal. Both are believed to be out of the country. Nine Lipton officers and officials have been charged with receiving or giving illicit commissions on army canteen contracts.
Niagara Falls New York faces isolation from world traffic if it fails to enforce smallpox control urged by Dr Hermann Biggs state health commissioner. He cites 120 cases two weeks ago and demands strict school vaccination factory and workplace vaccination and closure of public venues including churches and theaters to protect the state.

A frozen water pipe in the attic of the Blanchard building in Tremont burst after a delay of hours, sending a deluge through four stories. J. W. Hooker & Co. suffered the most, with water damaging furniture and rooms on the second, third, and ground floors. One janitor warned against continuing flow before the flood overwhelmed the space.
Kratuener names Arthur P Carpenter of this town as marshal pro tem to fill the vacancy caused by Horace Bailey's death in Rutland. Forty female students were awakened by a early morning fire in a three story wooden dormitory at Framingham Normal School in Massachusetts. All escaped injury but suffered from exposure as they ran out scantily clad. The building burned down and the roof was valued at thirty thousand dollars. Students also lost personal belongings.
A 930000 blaze destroyed the Hotaling block a three story brick building housing the Poet store of C R Hewitt and Lons and a rooming house. Two men Henry Fox and Burns were trapped on the third floor. Fox escaped with injury while Burns was overcome by smoke and dropped to the pavement. Firemen’s ladders were too short and the overheated furnace was blamed for the blaze.
Mrs Roy of Wood Avenue was seriously burned when a lit stove ignited frozen water pipes during a frost. Neighbors extinguished the blaze before firefighters arrived. she was hospitalized with burns covering most of her body. Steel stove fragments penetrated flesh as the kitchen worst hit.

Police officer Grange K. Carle was found unconscious in subfreezing temperatures on Blackwell street after four and a half hours in twenty below. He remained in grave condition at City Hospital though he showed brief signs of awareness and partial responses as teams treated frostbite on limbs and facial areas.

In a city court the defendant was adjudged guilty after a Tuesday hearing. The case involved a donlyeting and panblige resort, with a sentence of a 225 tie Soolae and costs totaling $3.31. Judgment was entered, with continuation noted, and the arrest relates to a remplant made by Unuml Jura AG.
