Vast floes of ice and fierce winds battered vessels off New York on February 10. Dozens of ships collided and many anchors failed as ice floes pressed toward the harbor. Quarantine and entry limits hindered health officers from docking ships. Some powerful steamers forced through the pack, but the scene was a hours long struggle.
Nantucket Mass Feb 10 island cut off by a ten mile stretch of solid ice extending north of the island. Steamer Nantucket tried to break through but gave up after four hours of effort. Residents have stockpiled provisions and coal but a continued cold snap could bring shortages and hardship as ice remains a barrier to communication and rescue.

Survived by sister and son Gerile of Obin who arrived Saturday. Services held today at 2 pm. body moved to West Belin for interment after funeral at the cemetery tomb.

Plainfield Feb 10 Ella Perkins died Sunday evening at the home of Silas Willis where she had lived the past year or two. She was married to David Perking Jan 29 182 Tidy. She lived in Perkineville until Mr Per a death in 1906. A member of the Methodist church for years. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 30 Rev J Chase officiating. Burial at comuzary.
Calchester couple Mr and Mrs Charles Mead celebrated a 4 day honeymoon trip. They traveled from Willlboro area, with lakes iced over and a snowbound wedding day. Mead was born into a family of seven children and has two surviving sisters. The Meads have lived in Hinesburgh and Fos Junction before settling in Colebertwr, with several relatives mentioned and a few milestone notes from friends and neighbors.
