The Marblehead pastorate he leaves follows fourteen years of service including earlier ministries at Columbus Ohio and Jefferson Indiana. Born December 23 1816 in Indiana county Pennsylvania, he comes with a wife and a daughter.
Two men announced candidacies for Montpelier's mayoral race if Dawley steps down. Candidates are J. R. Cullhwes, a granite manufacturer, and Levi H. Bisly, a banker. Bisly said labor groups urged his run and he agreed after consideration.

Alexander Buchan a Barre granite pioneer and McDonald & Buchan partner for about 40 years died at his Perry Street home at 12 06 pm following a two week illness. Born in Scotland, he came to the United States in 1885 and settled in Barre. He served on cemetery commissioners and was a longtime city friend and business leader. He is survived by his wife and three children.
Funeral services for Mrs. Edwin T. Sampeon were held at 10 o clock at her late home 87 North Main street Rev C Downey officiating two selections by a mixed quartet. Bearers Aldro Batchel er Plainfeld Harrican Lombard Momtprlier Junction William Messer and Jobin Lawles Barre. Remains were taken to Worcester for interment many tributes and wreaths listed for mother and sisterly relations including Mrs Beth Willey Miss Lottie Hunt Miss Lottie Gibb Miss Smith and others.
The funeral of Harvey Gres, who died suddenly of apoplexy Thursday, was held yesterday afternoon from his Hill Street home. Bralkted, pastor of the Baptist church, officiated with prayer led by Adjutant Hanson of the Salvation Army. Floral tributes and many relatives attended. the body was buried later at East Cabot. Out-of-town attendees included Miss Gove of Woeathoro, Mrs a deigh ter, Wilfred Raymond of Traintrén, T. A. Raymond of Rutland, and Mr. and Mrs. Eister Raymond of Reohes tor.
Delegations from Grenite Lodge of Maanng Qan Gorton and Burne vluh attended funeral services for George Prterenn held at two o'clock yesterday afternoon at 14 Frock Street. Alongside clan members, many friends and relatives gathered in tribute. Attending officers were James B. Coptte and Tansey Tottaracn.
