Bennett Julian, 11 years a book keeper at Marr and Gordon granite, died at his Pleasant Street home last night from tuberculosis at 11. He faced health decline after moving from Barre to Portland for recovery, returned to Barre, and had served as secretary of the granite cutters’ union and as annual secretary of the Foresters of America. Born in Cornwall, he trained as a stone cutter, moved to the United States in 1884, married Elina Watts in 1888, and later Hannah Scott Lewiston. Survived by a son Milton L., Fred K., and a daughter Evelyn May. first wife died in 1901. second wife with two daughters survived. Funeral to be held Thursday at 2 pm on Migasant Street, Rev. W. McN. Kittredge officiating.
