Police at Buffalo hold a man described as Italian named Tony Mori as a potential match for the missing farmhand Edward to date. He gave a Syracuse birthplace and was questioned about the DeFreestyke farmhouse murders but no definite link is established.
Albany authorities renewed efforts to apprehend Edward Donate, an Italian farmhand, in connection with the quadruple murder at Defreestville. Bloodhounds followed a trail from the Morner farm to West Sandlake, with leads to Troy and Pittfield. An autopsy revealed Blanche was ravaged, the motive alleged by police.
The body of Mrs. Olivera Rankin aged 70, formerly known as Misa Kitty Blanchard, was found in a bathtub in a Broadway hotel apartment. A physician attributed the death to an accidental cause. As Kitty Blanchard she was famous in early cinema days and stage circles.
A death sentence was carried out by hanging of William Turner a black preacher for the August killing of a white man. Authorities moved the execution from the jail yard to the town opera house to avert race trouble and the hanging occurred on the stage before a small witness crowd.
New York Dec 15 more than one thousand telegraph operators are affected as a government order dissolves the private wire system of the Standard Oil Company. Operators will keep their jobs but will be shifted. the split follows a Supreme Court decision to break the oil trust into separate entities.
Washington December 16 Senator Lorimer faced a setback as Senator Dillingham ruled that testimony from Chicago lawyer Maxwell Magar about the Harvester company tax fight would be stricken from the record. The committee indicated it would not accept testimony linking Lorimer to the Harvester fight, while other witnesses suggested possible bribe offers to influence coverage. Clarence Darrow and company officials were named in the context of alleged pressure to sway Lorimer’s political battle in Chicago.
Norman Mack, chairman of the Democratic national committee, spoke at a Michigan banquet urging victory in the next presidential election through constructive legislation. He praised ongoing Democratic efforts and urged clarifications to Sherman law to guide big business while protecting small investors, expressing confidence in a Democratic win.
Walter Brooks alias Kid Warren, fleeing officers with drawn revolvers, leapt from a second story window of a lodging house at 104 Harrison Avenue. Keenan did not appear, with bail set under $10,000. verdict to be collected from him. The case centered on alleged luring to Bridgeport Connecticut and the loss of sixteen thousand dollars through a purported fraudulent sale.
The Randolph Herald argues Vermont logged twenty murders last year, a record high that mocks national crime levels. It blames factors from immigration and liquor to social decay and argues for stronger punishment and a crime prevention society. It also notes a church fair program tomorrow.

Byron Downing of Washington faced arraignment for larceny of a team from Joseph Arkley of Barre. bail set at 800 dollars with his father posting. Peter Lawndry of Wilder and Miss Livaig Renwad of this place were arrested for adultery. Lawndry, foreman of Gemings Construction, was allowed to go on his own recognizance. Eiszie Renaud was joined by Deputy Sheriff Martin Garel.
St Albans voters authorized bonds totaling 8,000 to expand water supply. A meeting attended by about 800 supported adopting a meter system and acquiring Silver Lake and adjacent land. Resolutions to repair dams and install meters to add connections were approved 268 to 38, with the bond issue passing 128 to 3. 15,000 due in 1028 and 15,000 annually thereafter until repaid.
A fire at Martin Morans dwelling on North Mall Street, Waterbury, started around 4 30 p m and caused about 30 in damage to the house and furnishings. The alarm brought the Fire Department quickly and no serious injuries were reported, with the blaze under control within a short time and insurance coverage noted.

Two Finnish natives, Samuel Makki aged 40 and Samuel Jossila aged 04, were buried alive when a cave-in at a cranberry bog in Halifax, Masevee trapped them. A transport bus near the pit helped evacuate workers as the pit filled, and rescuers recovered Makki after three hours and Jossila after nearly seven hours.
A 5 year old woman, Mrs Ellen Williams, died after a lamp caused a fall on cellar stairs. She was found hours later with severe burns and succumbed shortly after. No family details were available.
Charles A Lundgren is confined to his home on East Street by the grippe. A daughter was born yesterday to Mr and Mrs E J Sowden of Tremont Street. Matt and Jeff arrived in town this morning and said they plan a big week ahead on I M P with a listed program.
The Presbyterian Ladies Society held a three night fair in the vestry with a concert by Clan Gordon and varied booths displaying domestic and fancy goods. Notable performers included Mrs Ronald Auld, Miss Mary Walker, and Mrs Linvild Stewart, with booths run by church members and many entries appealing to Christmas shoppers.
Members of Ruth chapter No. 34 of the Order of the Eastern Star gathered in their large rooms for a royal meeting. Mrs. Tivhy Mawley of Richford represented the state lodge with Mrs. Aide Stone of this city. Mrs. Frawley was elected grand warden and conductress at last annual convocation. The highlight was a fine banquet served by brothers of the local chapter, with a committee led by M. C. Molver yielding praise for the meal and meeting.
A gathering at Mrs. Frenel of Washington street celebrated her 92nd birthday hosted by the Church of the Good Shepherd and friends. The event featured a birthday cake inscribed 180-1911, a purse presented by Rev Beattie, and greetings from Rev Charles Welle.
Mrs Pauline A Nichols died at her daughter Mrs Henry W Knight 125 Till Street after a four day illness of pneumonia. She leaves one near relative, funeral at the Knight home Sunday at 1 30 PM with Rev J W Barnett officiating. Burial beside husband at Rimwood Cemetery. Pauline Amanda Clark born East Barre June 14 140. Married Esra P Nichols in Montpelier 1862. Lived in East Barre before moving to the city. Mr Nichols died forty six years ago. She attended the Congregational Church.

Felix Garnea a Graniteville quarry worker died at Guy Hospital after two amputations following a fall at Routwotl Mines Quarry on October 2. He survived eleven days in hospital, with the second amputation performedですが the patient succumbed to complications.
John Cruickshank, 40, a Barre resident born in Aberdeenshire, was found dead in his room after 7 a.m. by A Young. He had suffered tuberculosis for about a year and disease apparently caused his collapse. Dr Joe W Jackson examined him and funeral plans call for Sunday services at 1 p.m. in Elmwood cemetery. Cruickshank left a Miss Phinie Cruickshank in Barre and is survived by a Scotland-born sister, a California-based stepson, and two brothers in Scotland. He was a stone cutter and member of Manchester Unity Odd Fellows and Clan Gordon.
Members of the Varre Byrne club met in Woodsmen's Hall for their annual business meeting and officer election. Officers named include President Doma View-pres ident, Secretary Jeb Chesser ie, Treasurer Robert Inglis, Trustees J. K. Anderson and William Scott, with James Patterson and James Elrink among others. The group voted to hold the annual banquet on Friday night, January 28, 1012.
