United States Destroyer Lost With Part of Crew
The American destroyer Jacob Jones, on patrol near the war zone, was lost on December 6 in the evening with about 60 dead and hundreds saved earlier. Commander Bagley, brother of Mrs Daniels, led a crew praised by Lt Cmdr Worth. The ship, one of the newest destroyers, rescued 305 from the Orama before sinking.

Pleasing Farce Presented By Presbyterian Ladies Union
The annual bazaar and sale under the Presbyterian church ladies union opened yesterday afternoon and runs until tonight with a baked bean supper. Proceeds go to church coffers. Mrs A J Stewart and Mrs [incomplete] supervised the food table while Mrs James McKenzie Mr Alex Mackie and Mrs J G Milne led the fancy work booth. The ice cream and tea booth drew many attendees. A farce titled Mrs Jenkins Brilliant Wondrously staged by eight young ladies, who portrayed a sewing circle raising funds, drew cheers. Cast included Miss Rose Phillips Mrs Alex Fowlie Miss Christie Walker Mrs James Mitchell Miss Mildred Pier Miss Ruth Milne Miss Jonnie Stephen Miss Theresa Duncan. Credit goes to the ladies committee and several young ladies for their performances.
