Mrs. Anna Hucke, 65, of 78 Van Brown Street, Pittsburg, was attacked by an escaped lion at Lune idac summer resort. Rescuers fired bullets to subdue the animal as onlookers fled, saving Hucke from the jaws of death but leaving her bruised and in shock.
Secretary of War Tafthamt supports Governor Hughes as a presidential candidate with farmers in north arm New York voicing strong approval. At See county fair he is introduced enthusiastically, previewing a forthcoming speech on state administration, business, and department conditions.
Secretary of War Taft rode on passenger train 102 when a switch opened near Hill Kansas causing a derailment. No one was hurt though the engine and baggage car derailed. Providence Ro Aug 28 An inquest into the drowning of seven year old Timothy Conway leads to Willie Dundon facing manslaughter charges. The boy fell from a boat at the dock and was rescued, but later died. The accused allegedly wrestled Timothy and pushed him into the water where the body was recovered the following day.
A Russian Hebrew man, 24, entering City hospital last evening for a blood disease was diagnosed with leprosy. He came from Lynn and had been in Boston streets two days. He will be sent to the leper colony on Penikese Island.
Prince Wilhelim of Sweden arrived in New York for a reception at Grand Central and a drive to Oyster Bay for a meeting with the president. The visit, noted in dispatches from New York, follows arrival in Pollinn and plans for further appearances tonight.

John McDonald Thom and Ellen McMine wed at MT Tia o'clock yesterday evening. The Reg. CC Conner officiated with John McMin, bride’s father, and Mrs. Be ther Meum, sister, in attendance. The couple planned a two week trip in Canada after returning to the city.
At Mrs John Kea home on Long street a farewell for Mr and Mrs Kessock featured song and dance. Keith Hutcheon presented a suit case and Mrs Kessock a gold watch while Myra Thomson supervised a supper of oat fish and tatties. The couple leave for Montreal then Aberdeen in Scotland.
