A Saloniki dispatch reports Bulgaria has 160000 troops on the Turkish border and is satisfied with Entente territorial concessions as the price of aid in the war. Serbia and Greece must consent before negotiations conclude. Bulgaria may receive financial assistance if it declares war on Turkey.
Paris August 21 The Italian ambassador at Constantinople has been instructed to hand the Porte a note asking for a formal statement on the departure of Italians from Turkish possessions. The note admits of no invasion and asks the Turkish government to declare yes or no whether Italians will be permitted to leave and when.
Governor Harris asserts Georgia will prosecute the lynchers of Leo Frank through state officials and courts with citizen support, rejecting outside interference. Two masked burglars raided the Central Vermont station in East Granville about midnight. Police seek two 18 year old boys seen near Rutland and Burlington after they burglarized the Pittsford depot on Wednesday night. They entered by a window, took 22 cents from a cash drawer, opened a freight trunk, and stole ham and other items. They used a kerosene lamp for light and left quietly as the station closed.
