Capt. Pozzi of Premier Orlando's staff says Italy will deploy a force of 100000 to occupy Dalmatia and other Adriatic lands named in the Pact of London. A parallel force will occupy the northern region and around Fiume as part of the plan.
Captain Pozzi of Premier Orlando's staff reports Italy will deploy about 100000 troops to Dalmatia and eastern Adriatic areas covered by the London pact and similar forces to the north near Fiume. He says Parliament could be recalled to approve annexation measures and discusses reparations and cable issues.
Premier Clemenceau Premier Lloyd George and President Wilson met in Paris as usual this morning. No public outline of topics was given though the China Japan question reparations and possibly the Italian crisis may have been discussed.
Paris dispatches report Italian Premier Orlando discussed with Colonel House the contents of President Wilsons note and issued a counter statement to counter perceived surprise. The Italian delegation at the Paris conference planned to stay despite early indications of withdrawal while Lloyd George indicated they would not leave today. Victory Bonds will not leave today.
Paris reports that the date for the German peace delegation to reach Versailles remains unsettled amid Italian concerns. Middlebury April 21 Mrs O I Baynard of Waite River had her shoulder broken and Mr Tarnard was badly bruised when a wheel blew out and the car overturned on East Middlebury road near Blind Baker Mill. They were attended by Dr S S Eddy and taken to Mary Pletcher hospital in Burlington. The car was repaired and moved to Middlebury. Burlington April 14 Vermont Anti-Saloon league meeting elected Albert J Laing superintendent after Rev Oliford A Smith resigned to return to the ministry.
Americans chosen for naval aviation duty to man three seaplanes on the planned trans Atlantic flight next month. Commander John H. Towers to command the fleet. Selection limited to personnel unable to serve overseas during the war. Reports from Washington note delays and material difficulties hindering the project and the return of officers and men from various posts.

Hoeton April 24 Captain Dove Mc Math led nearly all of the men from Kingdon county Vermont in Co F of the ammunition train to France. He brought back 184 men, 120 were from Co H Vermont infantry. Several men faced injuries and illnesses including tuberculosis from gas exposure and a broken jaw. The company earned bravery citations from the division and French awards. A delousing visit followed arrival at Camp Devens, and the Vermont contingent was greeted warmly by fellow Vermonters. Forest City Arkansas reports that A. R. MacIntyre a Black man seized from jail by masked men last night was hanged to a telegraph pole. Authorities say the lynching followed a postponement of his trial a factor in rising local indignation. In New York the Army’s 77th Division sees personnel from multiple states arriving aboard ships Aquitania and Mount Vernon with hundreds of troops and support units en route to France. The 14th Railway Engineers recruit from New England ships with 80 officers and 1,486 men and are expected to arrive soon to bolster the division's logistics and engineering capabilities.

In St Albans Franklin county court six witnesses testified about Jennie Hemmingway's murder on Aug 12 1017 as the case against Robert Warm continues. Testimony included identity of a black striped dress and a man seen with Jennie near the Newton road location.
Walter S. Austin a Reading Vermont representative and long time educator died of pneumonia at his Reading home aged 44. Born July 9 1874 in Marion New York he served in the Spanish American War and moved to Reading in 1908. He chaired the education committee in the Vermont House and left a widow and eight children.
Senator Dillingham urged in Vincilia that a peace treaty should precede any league of nations covenant. He voiced support for a feasible path to world peace while criticizing the Navy buildup and President Wilson's wartime conduct. The Vermont senator spoke to about 100 club members, noting health and vigor despite age.
Helena M. Wood Fowler a Barre native and Worcester resident died at home in Worcester on April 21 after years of illness. She and husband Rufus B. Fowler were Barre Academy alumni and owned multiple properties in Worcester. Funeral services were held at Central Church with Rev. Dr. Shepherd Knapp officiating.
White River Junction April 2 near noon a brush fire along Hill Crest Street raced through the area. It engulfed the residence of Clayton S Gould with the fire department unable to save the home before the flames were brought under control. No insurance was carried on Gould property or contents.
Boston faces massive turnout as nearly 10,000 of the 26th division arrive from Camp Devens for a five mile parade tomorrow. Wounded veterans join the line with regiments and battalions, while grandstands near completion to seat about 100000 as 1.4 thousand police prepare to manage crowds anticipated to reach up to a million visitors.

Barre Milk Producers Association met at Worthen Wallace and voted to reduce the price paid to retailers from nine to eight cents per quart for May and June, with cans filled as usual.
