Berne April 24 The German government informed Switzerland that ships carrying coal for Switzerland may pass freely even if flying enemy flags. Rev Eaton of the Church of the Messiah in St Johnsbury will begin duties as pastor of Universalist churches in Mend and Swaperville Maine on May 1. He has served St Johnsbury for ten years and was previously pastor at Bellows Falls.
President Wilkow at a Washington conference with Senator King of Utah indicated definite opposition to a war declaration against Bulgaria and Turkey. King, who had introduced a resolution for such a declaration, was announced after the meeting to not present the measure at this time.
