St Albans April 22 Henry Muldoon employee of St Albans & Swanton Traction Co fatally injured Saturday morning between T and W elock at Branch's corner on the Swanton road. He died Sunday afternoon after being brought to St Albans by electric car and taken home. The deceased leaves a large family including wife eight sons and a daughter. He had lived in this city since 1909.
The State Department received official notification of Turkey severing diplomatic ties with the United States via a dispatch from American Minister Stovall in Berne. The message, sent by G Cornel Tatler representing Ambassador Elkus, originated at Constantinople and was forwarded to Secretary Lansing.
In St Albans on April 24 the two week mechanical department strike at Central Vermont Railway ended when all workers were rehired.
Mrs Marianna Gibson, aged 111, celebrated at her daughter Lettie Gilson's home in Hyde Park. James R Symes 85 and son Albert 45 of Monrow New Hampshire were jailed in Woods ville after Louis E Douglass 52 of Barnet was found dead in his home. Authorities say all had been drinking and the death is attributed to alcoholism pending further examination of the stomach contents. The younger Symes remains in custody for further investigation.

The locomotive and three cars left the track, the engine badly damaged. Fireman Elwin W Squires of Rutland suffered a broken leg and loss of a hand and is in serious condition at Rutland hospital. Engineer John Sheehan of Rutland received bad bruises. A harness piece and empty whiskey bottles were found nearby, suggesting drunken vandalism rather than war. The switch leads to a siding near the Rutland Fire Clay works, one mile south of the depot. Watchman Joseph Pelkey fired three shots. police were notified but no others were on the ground until the train arrived at 40 miles per hour. The locomotive overturned in soft sand, the baggage mail cars and day coach stayed on their wheels. Passengers in the sleeping cars were not seriously shaken. Traffic was suspended for 12 hours.
Charles Tatro aged 55 a Blaisdell neighborhood farmer was fatally struck by a train Saturday evening near Stevens mill crossing in Richford. The horse drawn wagon could not avoid the impact. body carried about 875 feet before train stopped. Funeral services held at 2 o'clock today at his sister Mrs Della Blanchard's home. Survived by son Ethan, three daughters Nellie Pleof Mary Sectean and Anna Tatro, plus siblings.
