Armed bandits bound two men and escaped with about $200,000 in cash and gems from the J. J. Reingold Jewelry Concern in a busy Chicago district. The crime occurred in the same building housing offices of the U S Railroad Labor Board.
Two armed bandits forced owner Reingold and traveling salesman Leroy Present into a private office at Reingold Jewelry in the Kesner building Chicago on April 15. They bound the pair and looted the store, escaping with cash and jewels valued at about 200000 to 250000. Police contacted after the robbers fled. total losses incomplete but substantial.

Thomas Graham, born in Dalweattie Scotland about 50 years ago, died Sunday at the National Sanatorium in Johnson City Tennessee after tuberculosis. He lived in Barre as a granite cutter, later moving to eastern and midwestern cities before settling in Johnson City. He leaves a wife and children. The body is in Northfield for funeral arrangements with burial at Reabury. A Clan Gordon delegation may attend.
A young child of Mr and Mrs at 79 Elm Street died this morning from scarlet fever. A twin week illness affected another child, likely a sibling, but is not considered contagious. The parents and four remaining children survive, and the body will be taken to the Catholic cemetery on Mevhley Street for burial at 3 o'clock this afternoon.
