Betton April 21 A blaze at Beachmont destroyed two summer cottages and two barns. A man named Glam-digger, believed inside a cottage, may have perished. A horse died in another barn. Low temperatures hindered crews as firemen battled the flames and quarreling at a hydrant slowed response.

Ninety years ago Mive Helen Warren and Sylvester Cameron were married in Miciesex at the Methodist pastor’s home. Now residents of Barre they are honored by family and friends as a long married couple. The couple, with three children and several grandchildren, have lived in Barre for 50 years. Mr. Cameron served in the Civil War era and later worked in outdoor and granite plant jobs. A bountiful dinner was held at the Cameron home and an informal reception was planned for eight to ten this evening.

Charles Silloway a long time Middlesex resident died in his bed aged 62 after a day of collecting utensils and reporting heart trouble. He left a wife three sons Gilbert Wayne and George a brother and a sister and was highly respected in the community.

A Barre board of trade organized last evening adopted constitution and by laws, elected officers, and appointed a five member committee to work with the Granite Manufacturers' association to ensure the Barre granite is used in the federal building post office. About 50 to 60 citizens attended in the manufacturers’ rooms. The group planned a special membership drive and set a next meeting for Tuesday evening.
