Waterbury April 20 Dr Don D Grout long time trustee and former superintendent of the Vermont state hospital for the insane died suddenly of neuralgia of the heart. Born April 24 1849 in Pittsfield he studied at Peoples Academy Morrisville and UVM Dartmouth medical training. He practiced in Wolcott Stowe and Waterbury where he served in public office and as superintendent until 1917. He married three times and leaves eight children, two brothers and a sister. Funeral will be private Thursday with interment at Stowe.
Wiltred Sheltra aged 20, employed by Parker & Young driving jogs, drowned in the Pack River near Irasbure. His body was recovered the same afternoon and taken to his father Solomon Shelters in Lawrll. Funeral set for Wednesday at the Catholic church, leaving behind his father, two brothers, and a sister.
Newport April 2 The body of Lem Whi and the Heveereld twee were buried after a funeral held in Northfield. The service recalled ties to Brooklyn and Nowittenedd with many out of town mourners, including John Clark and Dr. Fionston. Pallbearers included Nelson Guthrie Deering and Deany.
Oliver Lovely aged 54 was taken to St Albans hospital with a serious neck wound from a revolver shot. Neighbors heard shots at 12 46 AM and found Lovely with the revolver. Mrs Kate Ives is a witness as Sheriff Catlin and Chief Mahoney investigate.
At St Monico's church in Graniteville mourners gathered for the funeral of John Melifieho jr of 6 HIM street who was killed Saturday when two freight cars jumped rails and struck him. Rev McKenna led service with Mrs Smith choir, Lorene Lore pager at the organ, and taps by William Gilbertson at the graveside. The procession included members of American Legion No. 10 and fellow workers. The burial took place at Catholic cemetery on Heckley street. Pallbearers listed: James Careeil, Rowand Brown, Lor Maden, Leslie Wyille, Edward Hrkewind, Wilben Heyer.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from a church in Tyron for B B Jackson a large assembly of relatives and friends attending.
