Auburn New York April 18 19 year old Hull of Oneonta was led to the electric chair. The current failed to mult jolt and he died instantly. Eldridge Davie a farmer was fatally harmed during the incident and pronounced dead at once.

Benton April 16 George Somers a Salvation Army lieutenant was murdered in his Dorchester home by Edwin Bishop who then killed himself. Somers had sheltered the destitute man who attacked him with a weapon in the bathroom and Bishop then shot himself. Somers leaves a wife and five children. The killer had come from Springfield to Dorchester.
In St. Albans an effort is underway to replace the Welden hotel, burned thirteen years ago. Digging will be slow due to debris from the old fire, but constructors expect the cellar ready as the structure plans are completed.
The trial of Al. Wolter begins as jurors summon 150 from various districts to hear the murder charge linked to a controversial sect known as the Holy Hallera. William Gilmore, prominent Vermont figure and Adjutant General of the Vermont National Guard, died this morning at Windham Hotel after a brief illness. Born October 17 1839 in Fairlee, he served in Civil War units, held multiple town offices, was treasurer for 25 years, and served as gatekeeper general and militia head, with political ties to Vermont’s Episcopal community. Funeral planned in Bradford, at one o’clock Wednesday afternoon.
Tren, a native of Washington and one of Chelsea's oldest residents, died at about 75 after a two week illness. He had run a business in the same block for 53 years and served as director and vice president of the National Bank of Orange County. Surviving are his widow Laura Dickinaco, son C. D. Tracy, and daughter Lele Tracy of Boston.
James Addison Whitcomb, a longtime Barre resident and oldest living Granite Lodge member, died at his home 112 Intornet Street after a prolonged illness. Born September 5, 1882 in Orange, he married Anita Shaw in 1848 and worked as a tinsmith for Smith, Whitcomb & Cook. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Richardson and Mrs. Paine. A double Masonic funeral is planned at 112 Summer Street with Rev. Downy officiating.
