William Boynton, treasurer of Passumpsic Bank in St Johnsbury and a long time Vermont financier, died of apoplexy at St Johnsbury Tuesday night after a directors meeting. He was born in St Johnsbury April 2 and educated at St Johnsbury Academy and Cornell. He leaves a wife Ida Bancroft, daughter Helen, son William Jr a student at Williams College, Catherine a pupil, and his mother Mrs David Boynton. survived by brother Henry and other relatives. He held posts with Northern Bankers, Sons of the American Revolution, Knight Templar, and St Andrew's Church vestryman.
Herbert A Law Hoxton manager for Gorham Bivarveare company Providence was run over and killed by a subway train at Grand Central after jumping in front of it. Police have closed the case.
Yale senior Benjamin Spencer son of Tadge Spencer of St Louis was badly injured when his horse frightened and bolted on Wadeington Street Newton. He was taken to Newton Hospital with a fractured collarbone and serious injuries.

James Armstrong resigns from the di master post and will become freight brakeman on Central Vermont. Vacancy on branch train filled by Witenes Hoyt of Montpelier.
Superintendent Ralph F Lowe of the St Johnsbury district and Superintendent W S Smithers of Montpelier reported extensive church activity across Vermont at the annual conference in Newport April 1. Improvements include repairs to church buildings in Barton Albany Hardwick Concord Greenbank Derby Walden and a North Danville re-opening after renewal. The North Barre mission grows in influence with a large Sunday school and multiple services. The report notes debt relief at Topsham and repairs at North Barre, Topsham, and other churches, plus ministerial changes and a planned spring opening of a restructured church.
Frank Avon Sherburne born in Corinth Vermont January 11 1854 died in Montpelier Vermont April 10 after a long illness. He worked at Marvin Sherburne and later Sherburne Pint stores and served on the Montpelier board of trade and city council. He leaves a widow two daughters and several relatives with many friends in Montpelier and Barre.

Baker refuses to pay taxes. The estate tax bill of 417 dollars prompts the action, Baker calling the levy unjust and extortionate.
