Reports from Tokyo and St Petersburg describe the Baltic Fleet and Vladivostok squadron coordinating to strike, with Rodjestvensky accused of avoiding Admiral Togo. Tokyo sources say a major assault may wait until near Formosa or Japan to gain a nearby base and complicate Japanese planning.
London April 10 reports no confirmation that admiral Rodjestvensky is with the squadron. A despatch from Singapore says the Russian Baltic fleet anchored twenty miles northeast of Manki, one of the Anumba islands, with the Gregory just arriving there.
A Batavia dispatch from Java says a Russian fleet is believed to be inland near an island called Hasia, with battleships expected to reach Batavia soon. The note places the island between the Malay archipelago’s seas and Borneo, though details remain uncertain.

In Schoenville near McKees Rocks a riot injured one woman and left three men shot, one fatally, following clashes between 15 detectives and about 1200 foreign residents. The unrest stemmed from prior arrests of coal pickers by Lake Erie railroad detectives, with Hungarian and Polish crowds driving detectives from town.
In New York on April 10 Miss Mary Gallaway daughter of Robert M Gallaway of Merchants National Bank killed herself in her Madison Avenue hotel room. A nurse on duty heard a shot and found Miss Gallaway who had placed a pillow and pistol at her mouth. Death was instantaneous. She was 31 years old and had suffered seven years from dyspepsia tied to long illness. Despondency from prolonged illness is believed to be the cause.
F F Finnesy of Burlington Vermont registered as G W Green Chicago at the Imperial Hotel in New York. He returned to his room, summoned a waiter, and shot himself through the right temple. A note asked that his mother be informed. He had been employed as a bellboy at the Van Ness Hotel in Burlington.
April 10 report from Burlington describes Troop B of the 16th cavalry in a drunken spree across Winooski and the city. First Lieut Bowman has placed several men in the guard house and ordered others kept there upon return. A disturbance in a saloon led to arrests and a sergeant being injured by a glass thrown during attempts to quell the unrest.
In Kokomo Indiana April 10 a panic at the Sipe Theatre caused by a roll of celluloid film igniting near the moving picture machine left George Arm 17 fatally injured and many others seriously hurt. The operator’s alarm sparked a rush to exits as about 600 people flooded toward the doors after the blaze started.
Worcester reports Albert R. Pemberton of Ayer gone ten days. On April 1 his body was found in White Mill pond. Westford medical examiner Steepel says Pemberton, nearly 48, was an employee at a suspender factory.
Daniel Sweet aged 20 of Starkaboro ordered his sister laughingly to rise from the floor. She disobeyed and he fired a rifle, hitting the girl in the neck. The girl died at once. Sweet claimed he did not know the weapon was loaded. The incident occurred yesterday at noon. their mother warned him but to no avail.
President Roosevelt rests in a remote Panther Springs camp along the Red River east of Pred in Oklahoma. The five day chase expedition includes Lyon and Burnett veterans, Fortescue and Dr Abernathy. Secret service agents plan to keep the camp near a thirty six mile square tract leased by Burnett from Kiowa and Comanche lands.
Kansas City Missouri and Kansas City Kansas in addition to nearby suburbs and Jackson County Missouri saw saloons and wine gardens shut down as the new statewide policy took effect. Patrons crossed state lines to drink, though many venues reported no liquor sales.
Manchester April 10 two U S cavalrymen Leving Bickford and Lawrents McDonough stationed at Fort Ethan Allen Vermont were arrested in the Valay cemetery while sleeping off a jag. Fort Ethan Allen's commander was notified and the men were released after the telegram reached police. They had left the fort after pay day but intended to resume service soon.
In Northfield on April 10 the town clerk’s office handled ten leaf applications for the Heenke commissioners war meet. Eight sought first class leaves: M. L. Yarrington, Jammer Reid, B. A. Kelly, Jeremiah M. Donahue, P. tare. Two applied for second class: Fred O. Greene and John E. Plunkett. The hearing and selection will occur April 28 at seven o’clock in the evening at the village hall.
Ovsining New York April 10. Martin Ebelt, age 24, was electrocuted at 4 52 a m for the 1904 Mount Vernon wife murder. Ebelt offered no farewell statement and left no letter expressing regret for the crime.
Joseph Menard of this city reports James Scott, father of Mira, found dead in bed at his St Albans home yesterday morning. Born in Scotland, he moved to Hyde Park then St Albans forty years ago and worked as a tin smith. His wife Rose Bameville died earlier. survivors include Mrs Joseph Mertick of Barre, Mrs J W Parker of Montpelier, Archie Scott of St Albans, a sister Mrs Math Allen, and brother Daniel Lent. Funeral arrangements not announced.
A Rangers gathering at Semmpini's store elected officers and admitted new members. The club aims to bring to Harre the champion amateur team of New England and Caledonians of Holyoke during a tour. secretary's address listed as 13 Brook Street.

A severe wind and rain storm swept Pittsburg at 1 15 pm followed by hail at 1 20 pm. The sudden weather caused horses to run wild through the streets, skylights shattered in thousands, and extensive damage reported.
Arthur Laster, under death sentence, made a tunnel escape from a Paterson jail cell last night. He shot two deputy sheriffs as he attempted to flee but was clubbed and recaptured in a corridor. Both injured deputies survived. one was wounded in the abdomen but not fatally.
In New York an exhibition baseball game near Van Nest on April 9 ended 10 to 5. Neal of the New York team faced a Sabbath law charge after a base hit. Two Emerald team players were also arrested. all three were bailed at the police station.
New York April 10. The trial of the Nan Patterson case was postponed for a week due to extradition proceedings involving J Morgan Smith and wife brother in law and sister singer. The case concerns the slaying of her lover Caesar Young.
The body of Misa Scheok daughter of Dr. D Babcock was found in a Milford meadow near the parsonage after leaving home on Sunday. A medical referee concluded the death resulted from exposure.
