John Morrison of Plainfield visited the city yesterday and John Phillips, who has stayed with friends here, left for St Johnsbury this morning. D J McGovern of St Johnsbury was a business visitor ten days ago. A socialist branch meeting is set for tonight at the socialist hall on Granite Street. Mrs W H Wescott left this morning for a business trip to South Royalton. Mildred Fitzgerald left yesterday afternoon for Northfield to attend Mary Kington’s funeral. James Jacobs resumes duties as a salesman for H F Cutler & Son after wintering in Bradford. Local ads note genuine Thermos bottles and wallpaper goods. Regarded visitors include Monty Badger of Montague, Mass. and Campbell of Raymond visiting Quinnery operations nearby.
Friends and relatives learn Jennie Goodrich Dickinson has become mentally unbalanced and was taken to Waterbury Vermont hospital for observation and treatment. Since her husband Oliver W. Dickinson’s death, she lived alone near Graniteville, tending her garden and giving painting lessons. Several town residents and visitors are noted, including the Chapmans, Vera Croes, Ruth and Ruth’s journey, Ernest Allen, W. A. Bates, and local moves among the Cheney, Lavery, and Jeffords households, with ongoing travel and temporary stays in Vermont and nearby towns.
