U S government agents investigated the disappearance of about 200 young immigrant women and men traveling from New York to a Pennsylvanian town. Officials fear trafficking by white slavers. The exact town and names were not released.

Monson Mase April 3 Work in the cutting department at W N Flynt Sons quarry was halted Tuesday due to a dispute between the union and Flynt company. The union sought a $3.50 per day minimum with a half day Saturday, while a new proposition was rejected. An agreement is expected soon.
James B K Sullivan, secretary of the Amateur Athletic Union, said at a banquet in San Francisco that if James Thorpe had confessed to professionalism and returned his Olympic titles, he might have been absolved and could have earned the Stockholm laurels. A portion of the Wy Mont side abutment collapsed Tuesday, suspending service for trains bound for Concord. A life without public office he aided in local school district affairs and served as justice of the peace. Funeral services are set for Saturday at 2 pm at the House with interment at Elmwood Cemetery.

George Evans a respected Moretown resident dies Wednesday noon April 2 after a five month illness of heart trouble.
