Baraboo Fair Auto Contests Draw Large Crowds
Wednesday and Thursday races drew wide interest at the Baraboo fair with Buick and Oakland cars leading five mile events. Prothero and Philbrick won top medals as Gray, Steinke and others posted fast times. attendance surged to around a thousand autos and receipts topped two thousand dollars on Thursday.

Body Of Stranger Recovered From Kilbourn River
The dead body of James T. Quinn, missing in Kilbourn since Tuesday, was recovered from the Wisconsin River on Thursday. Coroner McSorley of Portage left to Kilbourn to investigate. Quinn’s presumed home is in St. Louis. last seen he went out on a river boat.

Milwaukee Railroad Replaces Auto After Collision At Sparta
The Milwaukee Railroad Company replaced the badly damaged automobile of Rev. C. L. Clifford after it was struck by a Milwaukee engine in Sparta. The firm paid $50 to each member of the auto party. No one was seriously hurt. The party was returning from the M. E. conference at Baraboo. Rev. Clifford had formerly been stationed in Reedsburg.

Auto Accident Near Reedsburg Endangers Boy
Mrs Marion Crowling and her husband of Lloyd were en route to Loganville when their car toppled onto its side. Their three year old son suffered a fractured skull and facial injuries. He was operated on in Reedsburg after Madison surgeons arrived. several bone fragments were removed. The child remained unconscious and in critical condition.

Injuries Fatal for Kilbourn Resident Dean Fairbanks
Dean Fairbanks of Kilbourn died at his home on Wednesday September 20 at age 67. A White Creek resident for years, he moved to Kilbourn last April. About three months ago a team ran away leaving him seriously injured. he never recovered. He is survived by daughter Myrtie and son Arthur. Funeral Thursday afternoon at 1:30, Rev. O. Dewitt officiating. Interment at Olive beside his wife, who died about ten years ago.

Stole Ride Ends In Serious Injury For Kilbourn Boy
On Tuesday night Orville Stowers, a Kilbourn boy, attempted to steal a ride from Portage to Kilbourn. He was thrown from the train and sustained severe injuries to his right hand, which had to be amputated. He was admitted to Portage hospital.
