Woman Dies at Portage Hospital in Portage
Mrs. Maria Hatter aged 69 died of apoplexy at St Saviour hospital Portage Tuesday evening. Her body was sent to Milwaukee for burial on Wednesday afternoon. She had been injured in a downtown bus accident weeks earlier while visiting at Westfield.

Earling Retires As President of Milwaukee Road
A. J. Harling announced that H. E. Byram of the Chicago Burlington & Quincy will succeed him as president of the Milwaukee Road. Earling will remain chairman of the board with a New York directors meeting to formalize the arrangement. Byram rose from call boy to second vice president of the Burlington, while Earling started as a telegrapher with the Milwaukee Road in 1865 and later led the line since 1899.

Child Found After Three Days In Woods At Ashland
Michael Janiko five years old was missing for over three days and nights. John Jablonsky nine-year-old found him crouched behind brush in a wood near the farm. The boy, exhausted and bleeding, was taken to a hospital where doctors believe he will recover.

Lineman Survives 6600 Volt Electric Shock Near Sauk Prairie
Fred Smith of Wisconsin Power Light & Heat Co. was shocked by a live wire at Tabor's corners on Sauk Prairie while working on the Baraboo Prairie du Lac transmission line. Voltage of 6600 passed through his head and leg, causing severe burns as he regained consciousness at home at 420 Second Avenue. He remains under recovery.
