Description of a robber aboard Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis and Omaha rail line No. 412 near Sparta forced crew to compliance and searched sleeping passengers. Brakeman John Hackett, kicked from a moving rear car, crawled to a Medary signal tower despite injuries. Conductor W F Frenz alerted police as a posse searched for the suspect.

Judge O Neill settled the city of Baraboo’s bridge automobile driving case bill of exceptions. City Attorney Cady will perfect the appeal this week. Attorney T W King of Spring Green filed Mrs Rose Hill’s supreme court appeal from the Post suit arising from Spring Green hotel property services. The jury awarded Hill, but O Neill set it aside and Post was awarded costs, triggering Hill’s appeal.

Opening Day at New Farmers and Merchants Bank

A. H. Clark filed papers Thursday in Baraboo alleging Edward Koerth now of Adams caused Mrs Ethel J. Schroeder to leave her husband, prompting a $10,000 damages suit. Schroeder, of Baraboo, seeks divorce action begun last February, trial set for fall. The case involves a Baraboo family with a five year old daughter. Koerth has children by prior marriages.

Arrest Suspect Held in Northwestern Train Robbery Case
John Seiffer, a stranger, is jailed in La Crosse on suspicion of holding up a Northwestern passenger train at Sparta Wednesday morning at gunpoint. Sheriff Webber arrested him after he changed small coins into bills and he matches the bandit description. Conductor W. F. Frenz of Baraboo will try to identify Seiffer. Missing watches were not found.

Baraboo Accepts Warner Bequest For Roadway
Baraboo will receive a $40,000 gift from the late W. W. Warner for a concrete highway from the Baraboo high bridge to Devils Lake, about two and a half miles.
