Thermometer Thief Strikes Town, Several Losses Reported
A thief has taken thermometer instruments from multiple locations including Paul Schultz at 522 Seventh Avenue and storefronts such as Nehs Grocery Fisher Drug Ryan Jewelry. Reports say several other instruments disappeared with unknown total. One suspect was seen taking a device and his name is known to some witnesses.

At the Bara Boo American Legion post meeting held at the G A R hall plans were made for a summer celebration likely July 4. A committee was formed to seek a permanent post meeting place and a St Patrick's Day event was approved. Adjunct A H Martin reported on Wisconsin post activities from a Mansfield conference. The post supports service men with insurance and compensation help. Membership is rising with goals to double.

Reedsburg Man Arrested for Making Stills
United States marshal's office in Madison reports Fred W. Fisher of Reedsburg was arrested Friday on a charge of manufacturing stills. He posted $500 bond after appearing before Court Commissioner Fred W. French. Fisher, a plumber and tinsmith, allegedly made a copper whisky still and planned to sell it to William Schwantz of Reedsburg, who was later released on $2,000 bond. Schwantz implicated Fisher.
