Man Arrested for Selling Booze Pays Fine in Overlooked Case
Daniel Trump was arrested on a liquor without a license charge after a complaint by Mayor G. T. Thaerer. He paid a $75 fine plus costs, about 680 total, in a case before Police Justice Wil am Ritchie. A state license was cited as prima facie evidence of the violation.

Shorthorn Baledens Award Silver Cups at Madison Show
The Wisconsin Shorthorn Breeders Association held a Thursday show and auction in Madison under J. J. Tormey. Judge C. J. McMaster awarded two silver cups for best female and best male, with Charles Pengilly and Carpenter & Carpenter winning. Over 40 animals entered, top bull calves sold for $500 each.

G A Clark of Reedsburg Sauk county was elected chairman at the two day meeting of the state association of county board chairmen held at the Madison courthouse. Dobbins of Waupaca named vice chairman Prentiss of Watertown secretary and treasurer. Resolutions call for curtailing the state board of control over county poor farms and institutions extending county officer terms to four years and removing them from partisan politics. Other resolutions were adopted.

Fines Paid in Justice Court for Minor Liquor Sale
Oak street saloon keepers Frank J. Kalaher and Edward Alexander paid 5.00 fines and 3.24 costs each for selling liquor to a minor Everett Hawkins. The cases, once delayed, were moved in hopes of venue change. They entered a nolle prosequi plea and paid the amount.
